ALONE IN VAARN 3.1 day three

Leif and Faulkner awake, agonized by the loss of their companion. In the purple-grey of morning, they notice that worm-pollen has started to accumulate in drifts amongst the fungal forest. The air is thick with cantaloupe-sized spores. They quickly collect a day’s worth of rations.

After, they explore the corpses that are the rooting-hosts of these fungal outgrowths. They find a keycard stored away in a raider’s jacket. Searching the Cynosura wreck again, they find a door that opens with the keycard. Once they enter, they find creaky, unrepaired janitor synths trying their best to clean and patch up the Cynosura.

ALONE IN VAARN 2.1 day two

Symeon, Faulkner, and Leif wake to a still, blood-red morning. Unhindered, they make their way towards the wreck, walking past large grottos of unnerving fungal growth.

Do they find an easy way in? [Hard no, Secrets Death] They are unsuccessful at finding an entrance, and have spent all morning in futility. Symeon thinks that the fungus might be the key to getting inside. They inspect a cluster of fungal growth and find that it is blooming out of a massive, withered corpse of a cacogen pseudo-giant. This corpse happens to be someone Leif recognizes from his childhood. His village was attacked when he was young. The last of the water-chieftains were slain and he escaped only to learn that all of his kin had died horrible deaths.

ALONE IN VAARN 1.1 day one

Symeon, Leif, and Faulkner, trying to pay off a water debt in Gnomon, commit their service to Xrax, a retired Thunder-Rider. The first boon he sends them on is to retrieve an unbroken memory crystal from the wreck of the Cynosura to the north. The Cynosura used to be an old water prospector’s rig. It lies in ruin, wracked by a biotech infestation.
